below and a full description can be viewed by clicking on the individual
project titles.
Stakeholders who wish to comment on the individual projects may
do so before the closing date. All comments received for each project
will be directed to the relevant Assessment Teams and all comments
for the projects seeking CDM Registration, will be displayed on
this website after the closing date.

Guizhou Qianxi Qinglong Coal Mine Methane Utilization Project |

The proposed project is located in Qinglong coal mine. The Coal mine methane (CMM) is currently extracted from the underground. All the extracted CMM is released into atmosphere which leads to not only great waste of resources but also air pollution. The total designed installation capacity is 2*500+4*700kW in the proposed project. 2*500kW generators have already been in operation since February of 2006. Other 2*700kW generators have also been in operation since January of 2008. It is designed that the last 2*700kW generators will be in operation in January of 2010. All the gensets will be fixed with compressors and waste heat recovery systems. When the project is fully operated, the annual electricity generated is 18,240MWh. 97.5% of which is connected to the internal grid for coal mine use. The left 2.5% is consumed by the power generation. The anticipated annual methane consumed by generators will be up to 5.88Mm3/y. Moreover, the project could recover approximately 28,621GJ waste heat annually, which will replace the thermal energy supplied from coal-fired boilers. In 10 years of crediting period, the proposed project could reduce a total of 851,309tCO2e of green house gas (GHG) emissions Comments:

The project is developed by Liuzhou Yangguang Power Generation Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as the “Project Developer”). The project activity involves the capture and utilization of waste heat from two cement production lines. The waste heat is utilised for the purpose of power generation. The Project will be implemented at Guangxi Yufeng Cement Plant in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China (hereafter referred to as the “Host Country”). The total installed capacity of the Project will be 6 MW, with a predicted electricity supply to the grid of 44,896MWh per annum. The power produced by the Project will be exported to the cement plant’s onsite power grid which is connected to the China South Power Grid. The power produced by the project will therefore displace power which would otherwise have been supplied by the China South Power Grid (hereafter referred to as the “Grid”). The electricity currently generated by the Grid is relatively carbon intensive, with an operating margin emission factor of 1.0120 tCO2/MWh and a build margin emission factor of 0.6784 tCO2/MWh. The project activity results into reduction in GHG emissions associated with HSD burning. The installed capacity of The Kerala Ceramics Limited (TKCL) is 24,000 MT of Kaolin production per Annum.
