All stakeholders are welcome to post their comments on the CDM PDDs submitted for validation and potential registration by the CDM Executive Board and other project documents that are of a voluntary nature and/or not currently being validated as CDM project activities. The different categories of the Climate Change Projects are listed below and a full description can be viewed by clicking on the individual project titles.

Stakeholders who wish to comment on the individual projects may do so before the closing date. All comments received for each project will be directed to the relevant Assessment Teams and all comments for the projects seeking CDM Registration, will be displayed on this website after the closing date.

Guizhou Qianxi Qinglong Coal Mine Methane Utilization Project

 

 

The proposed project is located in Qinglong coal mine. The Coal mine methane (CMM) is currently extracted from the underground. All the extracted CMM is released into atmosphere which leads to not only great waste of resources but also air pollution. The total designed installation capacity is 2*500+4*700kW in the proposed project. 2*500kW generators have already been in operation since February of 2006. Other 2*700kW generators have also been in operation since January of 2008. It is designed that the last 2*700kW generators will be in operation in January of 2010. All the gensets will be fixed with compressors and waste heat recovery systems. When the project is fully operated, the annual electricity generated is 18,240MWh. 97.5% of which is connected to the internal grid for coal mine use. The left 2.5% is consumed by the power generation. The anticipated annual methane consumed by generators will be up to 5.88Mm3/y. Moreover, the project could recover approximately 28,621GJ waste heat annually, which will replace the thermal energy supplied from coal-fired boilers. In 10 years of crediting period, the proposed project could reduce a total of 851,309tCO2e of green house gas (GHG) emissions

Liuzhou Yangguang Power Generation Co.Ltd cement WHR for 6 MW power generation project

 

 

The project is developed by Liuzhou Yangguang Power Generation Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as the “Project Developer”). The project activity involves the capture and utilization of waste heat from two cement production lines. The waste heat is utilised for the purpose of power generation. The Project will be implemented at Guangxi Yufeng Cement Plant in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China (hereafter referred to as the “Host Country”). The total installed capacity of the Project will be 6 MW, with a predicted electricity supply to the grid of 44,896MWh per annum. The power produced by the Project will be exported to the cement plant’s onsite power grid which is connected to the China South Power Grid. The power produced by the project will therefore displace power which would otherwise have been supplied by the China South Power Grid (hereafter referred to as the “Grid”). The electricity currently generated by the Grid is relatively carbon intensive, with an operating margin emission factor of 1.0120 tCO2/MWh and a build margin emission factor of 0.6784 tCO2/MWh.

Switching fossil fuel in an industrial facility

 

 

Present project activity is proposed to install a Biomass (Empty Palm Fruit Bunches) fired Hot Air Generator for supplying hot air to the Spray Drier which displaces use of HSD as fuel. The project activity results into reduction in GHG emissions associated with HSD burning. The installed capacity of The Kerala Ceramics Limited (TKCL) is 24,000 MT of Kaolin production per Annum. Electric power requirements are met from KEB supply while thermal energy is sourced from combustion of High Sulphur Diesel (HSD).

PT ASTA Keramasan Energi - 145 MW new build CCGT

 

 

The project uses natural gas, a relatively clean energy source and a resource which was recently identified in Palembang. The project aims to lower GHG emissions by supplying energy to the grid which otherwise would have been supplied through coal or oil-based power generation. For this purpose the project proponent has installed a 145 MW gas power plant, comprising two gas turbine units of 50 MW each and a steam turbine of 45 MW, at Keramasan, Palembang, South Sumatra.

The project activity involves the implementation of 8.75 MW capacity wind power project consisting of 7 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) of 1250 kW capacity each by Velatal Spinning Mills (P) Ltd (VSMPL) at Sellakarichal, Varapatti and Bogampatti villages in Coimbatore district in Tamilnadu. The power generated by all the seven WTGs would be exported to the grid.

Co-generation phase II project at Khatauli Sugar Complex

 

 

The project activity involves the setting up of a 22.0 MW bagasse based cogeneration plant at the sugar manufacturing facility of TEIL at Khatauli, Uttar Pradesh. The project activity has been planned with a purpose to utilize the bagasse generated in the sugar mill to generate steam and electricity. The steam and electricity generated from the project plant aims to meet the captive steam and power requirements of the sugar manufacturing facility and the surplus electricity would be exported to the electricity starved Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).

Leak Reduction in Above Ground Gas Distribution Equipment in the KazTransgaz-Tbilisi Gas Distribution System- Tbilisi, Georgia

 

 

This project aims to reduce leaks at above-ground infrastructure in the Tbilisi gas distribution system specifically gas leaks at gate stations and pressure regulator stations, as well as connection points with industries and residential buildings. In addition to reducing gas losses (and thus financial losses), this project will help improve the company’s standing in terms of corporate sustainability and concern for the environment. The Detailed Baseline Survey/Leak Screening, Measurement and Repair: The baseline survey is designed to determine the level of leaks and emissions - against which emission reductions will be calculated.

The project activity promoted by Nippon Power Limited, involves the setting up of a run of river small hydro power (SHP) project that uses water from the rivers Ritukhola and Kalpokhri. The generated electricity will be exported to the nearest grid sub-station at Bijanbari of the West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB).

The purpose of this project is to incorporate a new electricity generation microunit that will provide the station service for the 5 de Noviembre Hydro Power Plant. The addition of this new unit aims to allow the plant as a whole to deliver an extra 2,160 MWh per year to the Salvadorean Wholesale Market (SWM), which is the main grid in the country.

The project set up by the Enercon India Pvt Ltd. Is a wind power project located in Rajoda Village, Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, India. The project activity aims to produce clean power from the wind electric converters. The objective of the project is development, design, engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL) Wind Farm of 4.8 MW wind power project. The project activity consists of 6 nos. machines of Enercon make 800 KW wind turbines, totaling to a capacity of 4.8 MW. The generated electricity will be wheeled using the state transmission system for captive consumption.

Surin Electric Project

 

 

The project takes place at Surin Electric Company Ltd and involves the generation of electricity from the combustion of bagasse, a renewable biomass. The project involves the installation of a 10MW backpressure Toyodenki turbo generator. The turbine generator will produce electricity at 3.3kV which will be stepped up at the plant to 22 kV and then supplied to the grid via the Surin substation 40km from the plant.

Tecamac – EcoMethane Landfill Gas to Energy Project

 

 

The project entails the installation of a landfill gas collection and utilisation/destruction system at the sanitary landfill of Tecamac city, State of Mexico. At its first phase, the project aims at combusting the captured landfill gas in an enclosed flare. In a posterior second phase, the project envisages the installation of generating equipments (i.e. approx. 1.95 MW) that would combust the LFG in order to produce electricity.
