Pragati Paper Industries Limited (PPIL) is a leading supplier and manufacturer of news print paper. The project activity utilises the available rice husk in the region to generate electricity and steam for captive consumption, thereby avoiding the use of non-renewable energy resources such as coal. PPIL has implemented a 4 MW cogeneration power project based on rice husk with the bagasse as co-firing option. The power is produced by a 4MW extraction-cum-condensing steam turbine with alternator. The purpose of the project activity is to have combined heat and power (CHP) generation to meet the energy requirements and improve overall energy efficiency of the manufacturing facility. |
